Love this! So many chores when one has pets and gardens. Jake quickly trained me to hold his dish when he stayed at our place. He had stopped eating (he missed you so) and was losing weight. Holding his dish was the only thing that worked!

Aw. Though I'd like to believe he wasn't eating because he missed us, he really truly won't eat (not even when we're here with him) unless someone holds the bowl. We have no idea why he just started expecting this one day. It's only. been going on for a couple of years. Maybe he was irked that we had a puppy, Pepper, staying with us for many weeks on end, and it was his way of ensuring to get our attention.

It's a brilliant title and is making me tear up a little just at the wording - and having read about Jake in the last few months. The bowl holding thing sent me over the edge!🥰

I enjoyed reading this too. I am glad you are getting more sleep! It's great that you are making steady progress on the property. I feel like I know Jake better from your writing as well.

Thank you. Sleep is good, progress is even better, and Jakey is best. My book that I will publish this year, The Jake of Everything, is my ode to the best dog in the world :)
