Love your beautiful posts about nature. You live in a glorious place. Love the names of your hens: Shaun Cassidy and Leif Garrett.

I’m 64 on Monday but I still remember those 2 as the handsome hunks on Tiger Beat Magazine in Cape Town in South Africa.

Ohhhh, I loved them. We all dressed up in 1976/7 as them with their tartan trousers and outfits.

I can name all of them still.

What a lovely response, thank you.

Kindest regards

I am so jealous. They were coming on a reunion tour to St. Louis and my sister and I were over the moon...and then it was cancelled. Never got to wear my tartan trimmed capris. Sigh. Did you ever read the memoir Bye Bye Baby by Caroline Sullivan? Excellent book. p.s. I can name them all still and someday I shall name a rooster Les McKeown now that I know at least one reader will recognize the name. xo

One of them Woody landed up living in South Africa playing in a band.

I was a teenager of 14/15 in 75/76 when they started Alan and Derek and Eric and Les and Woody.

All the others stayed in England I think.

But can you believe how much we all shared then but couldn’t chat about across the world as we are today.

My mates and I had such fun chatting and getting our Mums to sew us our outfits.

We all liked different ones.

It was an innocent way to grow up and we were in an all girls school and our parents were very strict so it was a lovely way to giggle and have fun.

Kindest regards

I’m going to look out for that book, it was my favourite song, that title.

Sherbet, I could frighten my neighbours by singing it right now.

My partner goes spare when I sing to my old cassettes and CDs.

None of this online streaming for me. Reading is my greatest pleasure and walking and listening to music and watching films and series with my partner at night.

Yay for this lovely blast from the past.

Thank you so very much

Aw Jake, I know the feeling of overdoing it. One moment you are carelessly transported back to the pastures of youth, then the next day you cannot leave the couch.

As ever I am grateful for the update on the hens & roos. Doesn’t Jeannie look cute in her new home?

My mother named the mosquito netting that hung over her bed when she lived in Africa “the bride” because it looked like a wedding dress.

Thanks for the update on all things good! So nice to hear about and see Jake, yes, the chocolate statue when things should go his way, and the kisses following, what a guy. And the containers! Christmas in August. Hope to see you soon. Love from Sonoma 🥰

“The giant pear tree is fruiting this year, after taking last year off - Justin Bieberoo and Stanley can be found pecking at the fallen pears and eschewing the apples.”

When we lived in Seattle, we had a couple of pear trees in the back and our little Corgi, Natasha, would walk around with Molly the Lab and eat the drops. It was magic - treats from the sky. Natasha is gone now and Molly’s a grand dame, but I have no doubt our current little Corgi, Rosy, would snarfle any pear she saw.

Four containers! That is a lot. And do you get to keep the containers? Also interesting to hear about mosquito season. That is one problem I never have on my 3 andar sem elevador here in Lisbon. And actually, I don't see/experience a lot of mosquitos in Lisbon in general. Compared to for example other places I have lived in Southern and Norther Europe and Africa (and the African ones are the scary ones- the European ones just sting badly and are annoying with their buzzing)

I giggled about Jake and his sandwich. He looks so handsome with his silver flare! And Jeannie - I bet she does love her little pouch, it’s adorable - I’m waiting to see her with hair-feathers back on her head. Poor baby. Can’t wait to see your update on the cottage. Are you putting a frog and lily pad knocker on the door? Excited to see all that! Your place is looking so gorgeous, Sandra. Wish I were there to help you and the chixs ear all that beautiful fruit. And to see you find places for all your beautiful things! What a journey it’s been since the last time you enjoyed your household goods. I bet Jake loves smelling all of it! Xoxoxox
