I am begging you to buy the yellow chair already. Losing that chair over a mere $22 U.S. dollars is silly ;-) I swear if I lived near you, I would buy it for you and personally carry to your home, lol .
I drive past the house I grew up in several times a month, Sandra. It’s still my house, and I take an interest in it, even though I haven’t lived in it in 50 years.
"I happen to like rose colored glasses, also blue blockers - they make the world pretty to look at, always appreciated in the neverending struggle against the stasis of bureaucracy and things just not getting done here." Yes, and yes. Beautiful piece and that middle-of-the-night playlist was fascinating in so many ways. Thank you.
We are moving soon to a new city in Portugal and I mentioned to my husband again as we went into Continente today how good the yellow chair would look in our next home. He disagreed. Again.
I am enjoying your stories of Portuguese life Sandra. For your residency card, it may be worth going back to wherever you had your original appointment: I also waited six months, only to discover CTT had tried to deliver it and then returned to sender. Neither they - nor SEF at the time - bothered to tell me!

The yellow trumpet flowers are lovely!

🙄
our husbands must never meet
There is so much in life we can do nothing about. May as well look on the bright side. Fall in Portugal, in your beautiful home, sounds wonderful.
It took me a long time to learn that happiness is actually a choice that has nothing to do with what is going on around you.
I'm so relieved we have heat, this year we are actually ready for winter. Last year was pretty rough.

Yes! That is my plan just haven't made the journey.
